Project Eldar 2013

This page will be dedicated to my Eldar project, so first a bit of information about my Eldar.

This is what I found when reading through the 4th ED codex and it immediately caught my attention:

I always liked the model for Maugan Ra, and now here was the perfect chance to use him in  a "fluffy" army.  I also was drawn to the Saim-Hann craftworld due to their colours and idea that everything should go as fast as possible.  In fact the colours shown in the 4th ED book for Altansar was similar to the Saim-Hann, with them both using red quite predominantly.

So I came up with this as a prototype:

I combined both craftworlds colours to make my own Altansar scheme, and for a time I was happy with it.  That was until I found the Vallejo Hull Red Model Air paint.

Now my army would look like this! :

A lot darker and sinister in appearance, as benefited the "ghosts of Altansar" I thought.

The Saim-Hann element in my army had a similar treatment to the normally bright red main hull colour, I went with this:

So overall my Eldar army is a lot darker looking than I originally started out with, but I think when its all finished it will look great.
